The Geeks and God Web 2.0 Conference

Geeks and God Web 2.0 ConferenceRegistration is now open for the Geeks and God Web 2.0 Conference this coming July 17-19. The church is full of pastors, tech people, and other leaders who are trying to figure out how to use the Internet effectively for their ministry. They've herd the buzz words like web 2.0, blogging, podcasting, and community sites but many don't understand them or know how to use them for their ministry. That's what this conference is all about. The Web 2.0 Conference is a 3 day conference about the buzz words, what they mean, and how we can use them effectively in ministry.

The first 2 days we'll be talking about blogging, podcasting, interactive websites, and online community. We'll be talking about these in theory for ministry use, giving practical tips, and even talk about setting them up. These two days are great for pastors, church leaders, and even tech volunteers who are trying to understand this technology as it's applied to the church.

The third day of the conference is a little different. On the third day we'll be building a website from the ground up using drupal, the popular content management platform. The goal of this day is to give everyone in attendance the ability to build a feature rich website for their church or ministry. If you bring a laptop we'll supply you what you need to build your own website as we go through the day.

Because of the difference between the first two days and the last day you can sign up to attend them all together or separately. If you are a church leader interested in understanding the technology but aren't going to build a site you can attend just the first two days. If you get the technology but want to learn to build a ministry site with drupal you are welcome to attend just the last day. Or, you can attend all three and learn it all.

For the months of January and February there is a special on the conference. If you buy more than one 3 day conference ticket before March 1st you get $50 off the price of the order.
